Students and Post-Doc electrochemical scientists: Come to Pittcon and attend the 3rd SEAC Student Group Meeting on March 18, 2023 in Philadelphia, PA!

SEAC members Lane Baker and Ashley Ross organized a Gordon Research-like event for students, concurrent with Pittcon (this is the 2nd time in person, the last being Pittcon 2020 in Chicago). Approximately 50 student and postdoctoral members of SEAC met the Saturday before Pittcon to discuss science and make new friends. A total
Organized by SEAC members Martin Edwards and Stephen Maldonado, the organized symposium for students was a great success. Presenters delivered high-energy 20-minute presentations on a broad range of topics in electroanalytical chemistry, which were followed by lively discussion with the audience. Attendees were to treated to talks on topics including sensing, cancer diagnostics,
On Tuesday, 21 March 2023, students presented their posters in the SEAC Student Poster Session at Pittcon. Volunteer judges from SEAC enjoyed their time engaging with students and learning about their hard work in the lab. This year, three students were selected for SEAC Poster Awards.
Pittcon 2023 was a great time this year and it was so great to see each other again and catch up. We want to give some special recognition to our student travel awardees. SEAC was able to award five students this year. They are profiled below.

With the drastic reduction of the Pittcon 2022 schedule, our student members lost a valuable opportunity to present their work in front of an audience and we all missed an opportunity to hear about the outstanding science that they have been performing. To remedy this situation, we are holding the SEAC – The Student Session in Electroanalysis (Pittcon 2022) on Friday, 17 June 2022, consisting of talks and posters from rising starts in our field.
For Pittcon 2023 and for the ninth year running, SEAC will host another special session dedicated entirely to oral presentations by student and postdoctoral researchers. Stephen Maldonado and Martin Edwards will organize “SEAC – The Student Session in Electroanalysis,” a feature event at Pittcon that highlights new faces in electrochemistry. There are two objectives for
Pittcon 2022 was originally set to be an in-person event in Atlanta, GA from 5 – 9 March 2022. It was cancelled/moved to a virtual event due to COVID-19 pandemic concerns. While we all will miss being together, Pittcon has put together a FREE virtual conference over the span of a couple months, making virtual attendance and participation quite easy to schedule. Below we bring some of these Award Sessions and Sympoisa to your attention.
